September 16, a beautiful fall day, led
into a wonderful evening of friends and family gathering at Blessed
Sacrament for its second annual Homecoming. Nearly 100 people attended
the event, including former teachers, coaches, sisters and priests.
Special thanks to Monsignor Magraw, Monsignor Stack, Fr. Tom Brooks,
Sister John Francis Aeillo, Sister Mary Margaret Balizet, Sister Claudia
Dombrowski, Sister Ann Donohue, Sister Ann Marie Joint, Sister Joyce
Lowrey, Sister Andrene Mittal, Sister Mary Alice Reed, Sister Jude Marie
Talerico, Miss DeLuca, Mrs. Straub (Miss Meola) Mrs. Santangelo (Evans),
and Dave and Richard Tome.
Highlights of the evening included a scavenger hunt through the old
school hallways allowing alumnae and teachers to see firsthand the many
improvements to their Alma Mater. Photos of days gone by were also on
each table in the cafeteria. Prizes were given for those who completed
the scavenger hunt. Bulldog athletic apparel and gift certificates were
among the prizes.
The
Blessed Sacrament Advancement Foundation hosted the event. Karen
(Peterson) Tobin, Class of 1978, planned the evening - where memories
were shared and new ones created. |
